Coaching is an ongoing process of questioning and analysis that encourages you to think about your business in new ways, gives you a professional sounding board against which to test your ideas, and an accountability framework to keep you focused and on track as you move towards your goals.
Business consulting is about analyzing and fixing a specific challenge that you face. Do you have a specific problem with your direct mail campaign that you need fixed? Are you having trouble recruiting, training, and retaining the right people to your team? Are you good at generating new business leads, but have difficulty converting those leads to new business? These are all specific issues (among many other possible issues) that can be addressed and fixed with professional business consulting.
Coaching is a long-term program of support that deals with issues on an ongoing basis as they come up. Consulting is about addressing an immediate, specific challenge and fixing it.
